I was commissioned to design a 24-foot-wide main stage backdrop for Venice Summer Fest 2025, an annual outdoor celebration of LA's creative community. Spanning four city blocks, the festival brings together 300+ local artists and brands, with an audience of over 100,000 attendees in West LA.
Given full creative freedom, I created a whimsical landscape interpretation of Venice Beach, bringing iconic landmarks like the Venice Skatepark and Venice Art Walls to life through my signature illustration style. Playful proportions, unexpected patterns, and colorful textures transform familiar scenery into an eclectic landscape that captures the neighborhood's vibrant energy and one-of-a-kind character. From striped palm trees to seashell surfers, every element added a little personality to a larger-than-life celebration of Venice.
The banner served as the backdrop for the festival's main stage, a central gathering place for thousands of attendees to enjoy live music, yoga, and entertainment throughout the day.
